Luxury Market
A multi-brand designer store on Paris’ most exclusive boulevard is the ultimate locale for luxe destination shopping
There are few rules in the high-stakes, hotly competitive world of designer-label dressing, though those that do exist are entirely non-negotiable. Being seen in the same outfit twice is, quite obviously, a monumental faux pas, so too a head-to-toe, same-designer ensemble. (Unless muse status can be claimed – think Sarah Jessica Parker for Oscar de la Renta.) While the former is something of a glam goddess gamble, the opening of Montaigne Market on Avenue Montaigne has made the latter wholly avoidable. The boutique is one of the latest luxury additions to Paris’ best-dressed boulevard, and the first to boast a multi-brand concept: The 4000 square foot space carries around 80 designers labels from across the globe, each more gorgeous than the last. Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, Alice Temperley, Lanvin, Luella – the list is as mind blowing as the price tags. (Like the Neal Sperling slouchy cotton singlet, a steal at 200 euros.) The store itself is Zen-chic and the staff surprisingly tolerant of out-of-their-league browsers. One need never shop elsewhere.
