The land of Milk and Water
For some it’s cheesy monuments in miniature; for others the ubiquitous coffee table book. But for the fashion-forward traveler, the greatest holiday souvenir must be a unique purchase from one of those under-the-radar, home-grown labels that Europe cultivates so well. Milk & Water, a fun and funky women’s wear label by Parisian law student-turned-designer, Melanie Clémenç on is exactly that kind of label. The clothing blends a ’30s flapper aesthetic with a hip hop, urban edge. And if that sounds like too much design speak just think sexy street cuts with refined and feminine detailing. Available in Kiliwatch and Galeries Lafayette, the label has plans to expand across Europe. But for now, at least, this is one niche brand you won’t find elsewhere.
