Virtual wilderness

It may be one of the city’s two biggest wooded parks, but the Bois de Boulogne in Paris’s west is a little ways away from earning official wildlife status. (Not lest you count the smattering of ducks and the nocturnal, human residents that have moved some to label the park Paris’ largest open air brothel.) But a virtual wilderness? Ah, well that’s another matter entirely. Until the end of October the World Wildlife Fund in association with Good Planet.org has put together a spectacular open air photographic gallery capturing the world’s non-human inhabitants in all their weird and wonderful glory. Get up close and personal with a hard working dung beetle, or marvel at the miserable fate of a migrating salmon in a mid-flight face-off with an ingenious brown bear. Facts and figures documenting Man’s mistreatment of nature - and each other - will leave you reeling. Or, at the very least, considering organics.
